Physical and chemical properties:
Green crystalline or crystalline powder, insoluble in water, soluble in acid and ammonia water. Add 2ml of CuCl2 solution to the test tube, then add a certain amount of NaOH solution and shake to obtain a blue-green turbid solution. Heat this turbid liquid to boiling. If there is no evidence of decomposition and blackening to form CuO, then this light green precipitate is the extremely soluble basic copper chloride Cu4 (OH) 6Cl2.
Main use:
① The basic raw materials for manufacturing other copper salt products.
② Used as a feed additive and agricultural fungicide. Copper, as an important trace element, can promote growth and improve feed utilization efficiency. Basic copper chloride has more advantages than copper sulfate in feed applications:
a) The high content of basic copper chloride reduces transportation and storage costs, as well as the cost of addition;
b) Insoluble in water, non hygroscopic, reduces damage to feed nutrients, and improves feed quality;
c) Improve feed conversion rate, have good antibacterial effect, and effectively improve animal disease resistance;
d) Reducing the copper content and soluble copper content in feces is beneficial for environmental protection.
③ Used as a pharmaceutical intermediate.
④ Used as an absorbent for carbon dioxide in the air.
